Fast food restaurant secures six-figure funding package from HSBC

The franchisees of a popular fast food restaurant are expanding into Stafford after securing a six-figure funding package from HSBC UK.

Omar and Abu Javed are opening a Pepe’s Piri Piri branch in Stone Road, Stafford on Saturday, after using HSBC cash to purchase and fit-out the 2,000 sq ft site.

The pair – who already run Pepe’s Piri Piri in Shropshire – say up to 20 new jobs will be created with the opening of the chicken shop.

The Stafford restaurant can set up to 28 diners and will provide both casual dining and a delivery/takeaway service.

Omar Javed, Pepe’s Piri Piri franchisee, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing Pepe’s Piri Piri to Stafford with the support of HSBC UK and to be investing in this fantastic town.

“We’ll be hosting our grand opening on April 2 and there will be some amazing offers available for our first customers, who we can’t wait to meet.”

Molly Jahans, franchise relationship manager at HSBC UK, added: “After the success of Omar and Abu’s recent opening in Shropshire, it’s great to help the business grow across the West Midlands and beyond.

“The brothers are committed to the Pepe’s Piri Piri brand and the positive impact it can have by creating jobs for the local community.”

The Mayor of Stafford Borough will attend the restaurant’s grand opening and guests will be able to enjoy 20 per cent off the menu for the first seven days to celebrate its launch.
