Expanding commercial clean firm Mrs Bucket has landed the Wales Millennium Centre as its latest client as it remains on track to create a further 100 jobs over the next year.

The Swansea headquartered business, with has clients South Wales and the south west of England, has been brought on board by the centre’ facilities management provider, CBRE, to deliver regular contract cleaning.

This includes internal disinfection and decontamination, ensuring that audiences and performers returning to the Cardiff Bay-based venue, which has reopened after being closed for 16 months due to pandemic, are kept safe.

The partnership marks Mrs Bucket’s 14th new client win since the start of the year as the rise in demand during the height of the pandemic continues.

The firm, which employs close to 300, is now on course to reach a turnover of £4m by the end of the year compared to £2.9m in 2020 – a projected increase of 45%.

Founder and chief executive Rachel Flanagan said: “Cleaning has been at the forefront of every business’s mind since the start of the pandemic nearly 18 months ago, and that isn’t going to change anytime soon. In fact, I am expecting the gravitas placed on high-quality, in-depth cleaning to really ramp up as the country begins to get back to normality.

“Working with Wales Millennium Centre and CBRE is a huge honour for Mrs Bucket. This iconic venue is the heart and soul of Wales and its reopening after being shut for 16 months, will be etched into Welsh history. Being chosen to partner with the venue’s team to maintain its brilliantly high standards as well as support them in this next step is something our team will forever be proud of.”

Jonathan Hughes, area general manager for CBRE, said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for everyone at Wales Millennium Centre. The building has been closed since March 2020 and the easing of restrictions means we can finally get back to doing what we love. However, at the forefront of our minds is the safety and wellbeing of our customers, and so ensuring that we had an expert team in place to help manage the day-to-day hygiene and sanitation of the venue was imperative.

“Mrs Bucket’s track record of delivering incredibly high standards, along with its specialist knowledge around the cleaning requirements needed to keep our staff and customers safe during the pandemic meant welcoming them to the team was an easy decision to make.”
