My2be had been targeting £1m in revenue and has previously worked with the likes of Box, Nextdoor, and Bruntwood.

In a LinkedIn post, co-founder and chief executive Adam Mitcheson said: “After five years since founding my2be it is with a heavy heart that we have now reached the difficult decision to close the business.

“A life changing experience with a mentor changed the trajectory of not just my career but also my life and it was this experience that led to myself and my co-founder, Damien Shiells, joining forces with the ambition to make mentorship accessible to everyone across the globe so everyone could have the opportunity to realise their full potential.

“One of the great joys of start-up life is amongst the chaos, you have the pleasure of meeting some truly awesome people and we have had the incredible privilege to work with some truly amazing colleagues, clients, partners, investors and friends and will be eternally grateful for the support we have received which has only been echoed as we began discussions with those key stakeholders before we reached this unfortunate conclusion.

“Having operated with minimal resources from day one, at times we managed to perform near miracles, enjoying some fantastic success along the way.

“I’ll never forget the moment we landed our second ever client, a global PLC, from my kitchen table on the other side of the world whilst still just a team of two.

“However, despite our ability to deliver such results, we ultimately feel that we have simply taken the business as far as we can.

“I’d like to take this moment to thank everyone here that has been part of the journey and as always, our door will remain open if there is any way we can help you on your own journey.”
