The Engineering Skills Centre, located at Sisna Park, is Cornwall College’s apprenticeship training hub in the heart of Plymouth.
Opened in 2014 in response to the growing number of learners in and around the city, the Engineering Skills Centre has become an apprenticeship training facility for some of Plymouth’s leading engineering employers, including BD, MARS Wrigley and Kawasaki.
The centre is part of The Cornwall College Group (TCCG), which over 15 years has grown into one of the largest and most successful providers of industry-focused qualifications and apprenticeships in the South West.
Currently, there are an extensive selection of apprenticeships on offer across their campuses, which include Cornwall College (St Austell and Camborne campuses), Bicton College, Duchy College (Stoke Climsland and Rosewarne), as well as Eden Project Learning and Falmouth Marine School.
The Cornwall College Group is rated Good by OfstedBy supporting more than 20,000 apprentices and counting, TCCG has used its varied curriculum to develop a training offer covering more than 80 different career pathways across Devon and Cornwall, establishing itself as the ‘career college’ for the region.
The Engineering Skills Centre is fully fitted out for manufacturing, electrical and maintenance training as well as TIG, MIG and arc welding and CAD/CAM. It provides an ideal foundation for a wide range of skills in engineering, including mechatronics, toolmaking, tech support, machining and operative.
