An engineering consultancy has moved to a new permanent home in Birmingham after first setting up a base in the city in 2019.
Rendel is now housed at Edmund Gardens, in Edmund Street, after previously being based in serviced offices and the relocation follows a number of significant contract wins including with HS2 and Coventry’s new very light rail project.
The firm said the move would support its long-term growth ambitions which include plans to create 40 jobs in the city over the next five years.
Rendel is part of the France-based Ingerop Group and has offices in London, Bristol and Sydney.

The consultancy previously had a team in Birmingham until 2009 as it was working on the M6 widening project while its other projects have included the Thames Barrier in London, the Melbourne Metro tunnels and Hinkley Point in Somerset.
Managing director Vardy Jones said: “Our move into our new Birmingham offices is one filled with optimism. With new project wins and a growing team, a larger permanent office space was the logical next step for us as an organisation.
“Birmingham has a huge pool of local talent which made it an obvious choice as a location to establish our presence.
“Another key reason we decided to expand in the West Midlands is the region’s impressive connectivity and central location, enabling us to easily serve clients across the UK and overseas.
“Since expanding back to Birmingham in 2019, we have grown from one local representative to 18 team members and we’re looking forward to continuing our growth journey here.”3
