First look at luxury triangular treehouses planned for County Durham hotel grounds
A County Durham hotel is expanding its accommodation by creating new luxury treehouses within its grounds.
Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa near Durham has unveiled images of its four new triangular, glass fronted treehouses, which offer views across the 18th fairway of The Prince Bishop’s Golf Course.
The new treehouses, which are on two levels, include a bedroom with an en suite on the upper level and a lounge, toilet and kitchen area on the lower floor. Guests checking into the lodges will also have access to a decked area outdoors, featuring a private hot tub and sauna.

The hotel anticipates they will be popular with couples, but have also designed them to be suitable for families with the addition of ground floor, fold-out beds,
Work is now under way on the treehouses, which are due to be completed in early 2022, with the hotel taking bookings for February onwards.
The latest development follows on from the success of the three large luxury treehouses which were opened last year, with a fourth treehouse of a similar size, which will be mainly used as a wedding venue, also currently under construction.
Each of the original two-bedroom treehouses, built on stilts, have a private living room and bathroom with a free-standing copper bath, with designers creating luxury rustic designs for each one.
John Adamson, owner of Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa, said: “The response to the first treehouses has been incredible and they have been unbelievably popular.
“That has given us the confidence to continue with our plans for these four smaller treehouses which will still have the same high quality design and furnishings.
“They are going to be the perfect choice for anyone wanting a real getaway but with the added bonus of having all of our other facilities such as the spa, restaurants and golf on the doorstep if they want to use them.”
