Former headquarters of PlayStation maker Sony up for sale

The former headquarters of PlayStation maker Sony has been put up for sale.

The building, in Stephenson Way on Wavertree Technology Park, has been put on the market for an undisclosed sum.

Sony had been based at the park for almost 27 years before relocating in 2022 to a new office in the Liverpool ECHO’s former home.

The three-storey building, which was constructed in 1997, has more than 50,000 sq ft of space and comes with 160 car parking bays.

Sony’s plans to relocate its head office was first reported in August 2019.

It’s new headquarters, ECHO Place, was redeveloped by the ECHO’s parent company Reach and the Dubai-based Select Group.

It moved around 500 employees to its new base in the middle of last year.
