UK serviced apartment group Your Apartment’s latest foray is into the trendy Bristol suburb of Clifton.

Brothers Charlie and Toby Guest, co-founders Your Apartment, acquired the lease on Merchants House, on the corner of Merchants Road and Regent Street, last year and spent £1.6m renovating the property.

The duo have transformed the former student block in the middle of Bristol’s bustling Clifton Village into 34 serviced apartments.

Your Apartment styles its offering as “serviced apartments that feel like home” – and BusinessLive went to find out.

The apartments, which are a stone’s throw from leafy Victoria Square and just a short walk from Clifton Triangle, are aimed mainly at businesspeople working away from home Monday to Friday.

But the Guest brothers are hoping to attract some leisure visitors too, who are visiting Bristol for short weekend stays.

Booking and check-in to the apartments is completely contactless – an app is used to access the building and also as a digital room key – which will likely appeal to many people post-pandemic.

The spacious studios each have a kitchenette, so-called ‘relaxation area’, double or king-sized bed (this can be changed to twin on request), a dining table and chairs, and wetroom shower.

The rooms, which are colourful and contemporary (think pink velvet furnishings, pineapple lamps and tropical wallpaper), have been styled by up-and-coming designers.

It’s clear Your Apartment is hoping to appeal to visitors who want to stay for longer periods than just one or two nights.

The apartments are each equipped with an oven, microwave, fridge and washing machine, and a smart TV with Netflix installed.

Guests booked in for longer than a month are given a ‘pantry crate’, with a number of locally sourced products including organic milk from Bruton Dairy and fresh sourdough from the Sunday General in Clifton Arcade.

There’s also a 24-hour co-working space for professionals who’ve booked longer stays too, which includes complimentary coffee and tea, and free high-speed wifi.

And for those travelling from afar, there is limited underground parking and a bike store.

The apartment’s location, though, is a major selling point. Upmarket Clifton is bursting with independent shops, quaint cafes, bouji bars and cool eateries.

It’s only a 25-minute walk to the Harbourside too, should visitors want to explore further afield or go into the town centre for leisure or meetings.

But for those content to stay within the ‘Clifton bubble’, will find more than enough to do.

Your Apartment offers cancellation up to 24 hours before arrival, and discounted business rates for booking direct or longer stays. For more information, visit yourapartment.com.
