A specialist consultancy that helps businesses reduce energy consumption is expanding with the creation of around 40 jobs.
ClearVUE.Business, which has its head office in Gateshead, has developed technology that can give companies detailed information about energy usage – helping them on their way to achieving net zero and save money. The firm, which currently comprises a team of 30 people based across three continents, has won a string of contacts including partnerships with Watford Football Club, a leading UK gardening charity and one of the country’s top public schools.
The business hopes to capitalise on the push towards net zero – including the impetus from Government targets – and is already worked with organisations to provide them with granular data about when and how energy is being consumed. Its ClearVUE.Zero technology gives clients insights that can be used to make decisions about how to reach optimal energy performance, reduce their energy expenditure, lower the carbon footprint and reduce the impact on the environment.

Dan Smith, ClearVUE’s director of Energy Services, said: “This is a hugely exciting time to join the business as we build partnerships with companies who are focussed on accelerating their journey to net zero and making a positive impact on the planet.”
ClearVUE also offers expertise in audits, energy efficiency training, energy management, climate risk assessments, and emissions reporting legislation (ESOS, SECR). ClearVUE’s consultancy services also help businesses devise long-term strategies, helping them realise net zero and sustainability ambitions.
The firm’s contract with Watford Football Club will see it conduct an audit of the club’s carbon emissions in both its upstream and downstream supply chains and will help Watford develop and implement a net zero roadmap to be delivered over the next decade.
John McCabe, chief executive of North East England Chamber of Commerce, said: “It’s great to see the growth of interest in net zero which has resulted in commensurate business development for our member, ClearVUE. They’re creating new jobs due to the demand for support to go on the journey to become carbon neutral. It is also good news that several of these new, green jobs will be based in the region.”
The business says further growth is expected throughout 2022 and 2023 and that the new roles will play an important part of this expansion, with opportunities for personal development.
