North East manufacturer Isoclad has expanded with a new factory in south east Wales.
The North Shields based firm makes insulated composite panels used in the construction of everything from medical cleanrooms to ice cream factories and has now opened a 124,000 sq ft plant in Monmouth.
It follows a seven-figure equipment finance package from HSBC and will see Isoclad expand its product portfolio with the launch of Securiclad and Customclad.

Securiclad will provide a range of security panels while Customclad will streamline the construction process by providing the capability to cut apertures such as windows and doorways before they arrive on site into insulated wall panels – a move that will reduce waste and customer costs.
The Monmouth facility – which will create 15 manufacturing and engineering jobs – is said to become one of the only UK sites with the automated capability to do this.
Christine Wilde, managing director at Isoclad, said: “The funding from HSBC UK marks the beginning of an exciting period of growth for our company, with the launch of our bespoke cutting service and new Customclad and Securiclad brands.
“It’s been a great start to the year, and we look forward to welcoming new customers, as well as new staff to our team.
“We have a long-standing relationship with HSBC UK, and the support we’ve received from the bank’s equipment finance director Scott Ritchie and relationship director Craig Grant, in particular, has been crucial.”
Warren Lewis, head of corporate banking, Wales, at HSBC UK, added: “The team at Isoclad have set out ambitious growth plans to fortify their position as a market leader in the sector, and we’re pleased to be building on our relationship through a new funding package which will support the implementation of new technology, job creation, and business expansion. We look forward to seeing the business grow to new heights throughout 2022 and beyond.”
Isoclad – which operates from Chirton North Industrial Estate – has provided products used in the renovation of London’s Waterloo Tube Station and shop hoardings across shopping centres such as the Metrocentre, the Bluewater Centre in Dartford and Meadowhall in Sheffield.
