OKTO Technologies creates 30 jobs after winning London hotel contract

Lisburn company OKTO has created 30 new jobs after winning a £10 million contract to work on the Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotel Group’s first London property.

OKTO’s initial contract saw it supply building management systems, lighting control, audio-visual and security in the 24 “superprime” apartments which are part of The Peninsula London development in Belgravia, as well as a concierge system.

It was also contracted to smart technologies and security for the hotel itself, including the automation of 107 exterior doors and a traffic management system for the five floor basement car park. Furthermore, the company has been hired by individual apartment owners to provide bespoke technology upgrades.

The Peninsula London is a high end hotel and apartment development which stretches to 206 bedrooms and suites, seven bars and restaurants and which has its own Rolls Royce chauffeur service for guests. It is due to open this month after six years of construction, with OKTO on site since 2021.

“This is a significant coup for OKTO and solidifies our position as the premier provider of technology solutions for luxury properties and large-scale projects,” Managing Director of OKTO Technologies Philip Dowds said It’s exciting to see The Peninsula London come to fruition and to know we’ve played a part in creating the ultimate luxury experience for those who stay and live there.”

OKTO has been growing significantly over recent years and has set its sights on further expansion in the near future, Mr Dowds said.

“The contract at The Peninsula London adds to our already extensive portfolio of world-renowned clients. Our turnover in 2022 exceeded our £10m target, and we’re set to exceed £15m in 2023. With job creation at the top of our agenda, we plan to grow further and faster in 2023 and beyond.”
