Retail giant JD Sports adds former Asos chairman to board

JD Sports has added a former chairman of Asos to its board.

The Greater Manchester-headquartered retail giant has appointed Ian Dyson as a non-executive director. He will join the Audit and Risk Committee and the Remuneration Committee.

Mr Dyson is currently chair of Currys and has previously served as chairman and senior independent director at Asos.

He has also been a senior independent director at Flutter Entertainment plc and a non-executive director of Intercontinental Hotels Group and SSP Group.

During his executive career, he was group finance and operations director of Marks & Spencer, chief executive of Punch Taverns and group finance director of Rank Group.

JD Sports chairman Andrew Higginson said: “I am delighted to welcome Ian to the JD board.

“He brings a wealth of relevant experience and insight to our deliberations.

“The appointment of Ian is further progress towards strengthening the board’s broader PLC experience base.”
