Work starts on new speculative warehouse in Tamworth
Work has started on a new 345,000 sq ft warehouse in Tamworth.
Real estate developer Panattoni has started speculatively developing the logistics facility on the A5, close to junction 10 of the M42.
The 345,414 sq ft facility – known as Tamworth 345 – is being built as part of a significant speculative development programme which is being rolled out by the company across the UK in response to strong demand for immediate industrial space.
Earlier this year, Panattoni announced plans to build a 515,000 sq ft warehouse at Derby Commercial Park – big enough to accommodate 500 jobs.
It is also developing a huge logistics complex in Yorkshire which includes a 630,000 sq ft speculative warehouse and a smaller 85,000 sq ft building.

Work on Tamworth 345 building is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022.
Simon Jenkins, development director at Warwick-based Panattoni, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us, as land in the West Midlands for building a logistics facility of this scale is very scarce.
“Our appetite for speculative development reflects the strength of demand from occupiers for immediately available space.”
Buckingham Group Contracting has been appointed main contractor on site. The appointed agents on the scheme are JLL and Burbage Realty.
