Full list of what water bills cost now – and how much they’re going up by in your area

The cost of water bills will go up in the next few years, the industry regulator Ofwat confirmed today.

The average bill will go up 36% but how much extra billpayers will be charged depends on what part of England or Wales you live in, and which water company supplies you.

The sums are below what the firms had requested but not far off.

Here’s how much a typical bill is now and what it will rise to by 2030.

Anglian Water

The average annual bill is currently £491. It will rise to £631 by 2030, a 29% increase, equivalent to an extra £140.

The company had wanted bills to go up to £649 a year in five years, a 32% increase.

Dwr Cymru

The average annual bill is currently £455. It will rise to £645 by 2030, a 42% increase, or £190.

The company had wanted bills to go up to £660 a year in five years, a 45% increase.

Hafren Dyfrdwy

The average annual bill is currently £392. It will rise to £577 by 2030, a 42% (£165) increase.

The company had wanted bills to go up to £629 a year in five years, a 61% increase.

Northumbrian Water

The average annual bill is currently £422. It will rise to £510 by 2030, a 21% (£88) increase.

The company had wanted bills to go up to £524 a year in five years, a 24% increase.

Water companies to increase bills

Severn Trent Water

The average annual bill is currently £398. It will rise to £583 by 2030, a 47% (£185) increase.

The company had wanted bills to go up to £612 a year in five years, a 54% increase.

Southern Water

The average annual bill is currently £420. It will rise to £642 by 2030, a 53% (£222) increase.

The company had wanted bills to go up to £768 a year in five years, an 83% increase.

South West Water

The average annual bill is currently £497. It will rise to £610 by 2030, a 23% (£113) increase.

The company had wanted bills to go up to £624 a year in five years, a 26% increase.

Thames Water

The average annual bill is currently £436. It will rise to £588 by 2030, a 35% (£152) increase.

The company had wanted bills to go up to £667 a year in five years, a 53% increase.

The average annual bill is currently £442. It will rise to £585 by 2030, a 32% (£143) increase.

The company had wanted bills to go up to £603 a year in five years, a 36% increase.

Wessex Water

The average annual bill is currently £508. It will rise to £614 by 2030, a 21% (£106) increase.

The company had wanted bills to go up to £658 a year in five years, a 30% increase.

Yorkshire Water

The average annual bill is currently £430. It will rise to £607 by 2030, a 41% (£177) increase.
